Guillaume ALBY, also known as REMED, is a Paris-born artist currently residing in Suances, Cantabria. He discovered the art of painting in an atelier in Lille in 1995 and initially worked in the privacy of his room/studio. He started expressing himself in public spaces and began pasting stickers and spraying messages on walls, embracing the context and environment in which his art would evolve.
By creating rhymes with colors, shapes, and sounds, REMED aims to evoke emotions, express feelings, and explore the evolution of thought. He views art as a sincere blend of science and soul, living what he feels and painting what he lives.
For an interview with “HOLIDAY” magazine 2014, entitled “ART AS REMEDY” or “L’Art comme Remède”. He says that “art’s therapeutic power of art should always shine through” It explores the notion that art is meant to heal—to remember, recognize, oversee, understand, question, tell, and heal.
He sees art as a remedy for the soul, a form of therapy that helps cope with pain, happiness, love, hate, light, and darkness. For him, art is the fusion of science and soul, a remedy for life itself.
